About Us
Jim Lynn and John Cahill have known each other since they shared an office in 1986 as "summer associates"—law student trainees—at the large international law firm now known as Torys. They trained as litigators at that firm but, in the more than 20 years since, have expanded their practices to include not only a broad variety of litigation, but matters relating to art, commercial transactions, employment, and intellectual property. Their firmly held belief is that seeing things through litigation makes for better transactional lawyers and counselors.
The firm's goal is simple: to deliver high-quality services and optimal results for clients at a reasonable cost. We work hard to understand a client's specific needs and tailor our services to help clients meet their goals. Our aim is to deliver personal service and the same high standards of legal work that you would expect to receive from the top firms with which Jim and John have been affiliated. In that sense, our approach is the same whether we are working with individuals or multinational corporations.
The firm represents individuals and businesses in a wide variety of matters across a range of business and other areas, including the "art world," financial services, insurance, publishing, and software to name but a few. Our services are local, national, and international as appropriate. We are most often lead counsel in matters but work well with other firms as local counsel or as necessary to effectively serve a client's needs.
We represent a number of prominent businesses and individuals but have determined not to identify them as a matter of discretion. We can provide certain specifics and references upon request.
